Hart Corporation Completes Sale of Aiken, South Carolina Facility, the new location of MTU Detroit Diesel's North American manufacturing operations.
Hart Corporation is pleased to announce the sale of a manufacturing facility located in Sage Mill Industrial Park in Aiken, SC. This former SKF USA Inc. building, which spans 302,668 square feet on 50 acres, was acquired by MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc. a subsidiary of Germany-based Tognum Group who manufactures off-road engines.
As MTU settles into their new home, it is expected they will start hiring in May, and by the time they plan to kick off production in October, they’ll have an estimated 250 workers in their employ. This is a great boost to the community, who has been waiting for someone to occupy the building for nearly five years.
